Why Karate Rules

I think karate is now my favorite type of exercise.  I never would have guessed that I’d have any interest in karate, but here I am, going for my purple belt and moving up to intermediate level.  Not only are karate classes a good workout, but they challenge the mind at the same time.  Every class is different – cardio, self-defense, weapons, and katas (forms).  As I tell my kids, “variety is good.”  Some would say “variety is the spice of life” and karate certainly offers good variety.  It’s such a nice combination of physical and mental challenges that I stop worrying about other things and really immerse myself into the classes.  Then the time flies by.  I love it.  Plus, it’s not at all bad to be stronger, more fit, and more well-balanced.  Bring it on!
